This week, we will be incorporating apples into our science and social studies units because it is Johnny Appleseed's birthday on Wednesday!

As a final wrap-up activity, we will be making applesauce on Friday in class. Of course, we need some help with ingredients!!! Please send ONE APPLE (any color/flavor) to school with your student by Thursday, 9/27.

As always, thank you for your help! Our students appreciate it more than you can imagine!
Here's the plan for this week!

Color: Brown, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" by Eric Carle

Math: Comparing numbers 0-5 using the words more, less, and equal

Science/Social Studies: Johnny Appleseed's birthday is the 26th, so this week we're going all out with apples!

Hello Parents!

I know it's still early in a year, and you were all simply wonderful at bringing in all the supplies we needed to start off the school year on the right foot! A big part of being in kindergarten and learning how to share, honing fine motor skills, and practicing self control comes from art and cooking activities. To help us get started, we created a wishlist for some items. If possible, please consider donating any of the listed items to our classroom!

Our Wish List

Thank you!
Here is what's on the agenda this week:

Math: Numbers 4 & 5, using a "five frame" to show how many

Science: What is a tree? What are the parts of a tree?

Phonics: letters and sounds for Mm and Ss

Reading: What is a sentence? and the sight word: a

Writing: What is a label? Drawing a person and labelling with their name and a favorite object that starts with one of our letters.

Handwriting: capital F and E

Color: my favorite....GREEN! Try to wear green on Friday and bring a green item for show and tell!
Hooray! Kindergarten has a NEW teacher! She is the wonderful, fantastic Mrs. Hall! And the best part is that she's right across the hallway from us, so our friends who are moving away aren't going to be so far after all. :)

We are very excited to have her join our awesome kindergarten team! Ella, Ethan, Darryl, Avyn, and Toby are super excited to start meeting with their new teacher on Thursday.
